I am going to be starting something new here very shortly. As I have mentioned in previous posts, I want to pursue online marketing. Originally I saw this activity as something separate from this blog. Now I have come to the realization that you, my readers, might like to see what I’m doing.
I have not started any of the projects so far, other than form some rather nebulous ideas of how I intend to pursue the ever-popular Make Money Online (as you read that, imagine it being said with a sonorous voice with a little reverb…kinda like it might sound if God said it…in a movie). Of course this means that you will be able to see everything I do right from the beginning. Did I say, “see?” Well, maybe not see, but I will tell you about the steps I am following. I would show you, but there are going to be keywords involved, and, frankly I don’t need any more competition than I am already going to have.
Here are some of the ideas I’m sort of kicking around in my head. I’m thinking about building a site to promote a picture my beloved Roseann made to help her teach her kids about Jesus. When the site is up I’ll tell you about it. Also on the table is hubpages. I’ve read a few articles lately about making money with hubpages. And then, of course there are the usual ideas about finding keywords and then creating websites along with the requisite linkbuilding.
Those are some of the ideas I’m going to try. I’ll keep you updated on my progress here every step of the way. If anyone would like to contribute any information in the comments that would be great. You can help me and help the other readers at the same time. In the near future I’ll write with more specificity.
As always, comments are encouraged.

Why do we blog? To make money? Just to have a place to express ourselves? Obviously there are many reasons to be a blogger. I started this blog after committing the unpardonable sin of failing to backup my previous blog and making changes to the html code that were wrong, and that I was unable to fix. I ultimately decided to delete it and start over. This new one is about blogging. Originally I was going to use it to document everything I did to create a successful blog. It was going to be a sort of diary of blogging related activities. As I started to write content for it, I found that I wanted to expand the focus a bit, and write about anything blogging related. I still write posts about what I do to develop and promote, but now I also write about other aspects too. Thus, we see that sometimes the reasons for blogging can change. Moving right along, let’s explore some of the more popular reasons for blogging.
Blogging For Money
Many bloggers see the success of some of what I might refer to as the super bloggers; the Darren Rowse’s, and the Yaro Starak’s – bloggers like that; and want to emulate their success. Who wouldn’t want thousands of dollars per month flowing in. Most of us will never attain those lofty heights in the realm of blogging, but there is always room for more at the top. And so the dream lives. The internet is a big place, and getting bigger all the time. There are many ways to make money with a blog, but I haven’t yet utilized them on this blog. Without a position of authority by having a track record of producing income I will not discuss those methods yet. Without that track record I certainly wouldn’t pay any attention to what I had to say. It would only be sort of hearsay evidence. I would be talking about what other people say they had done. So for now, let it suffice to say that there are ways to make money with a blog, and if you’re curious about them, there is no shortage of e books and articles which can easily be found just by doing some simple searches.
Personal Blogs
Then there are the personal blogs. These are the blogs used by people who want to share news with their friends or family. Sometimes they are written by people who just want to share their interests with whomever shares that interest. Generally they are written with no thought of monetization.
Organizational Blogs
Blogs that share news of organizations or companies comprise this category. With the internet having become such an important part of everyone’s lives, companies and organizations have found that having a blog to keep their members, employees, customers, and anyone with an interest in them apprised of the latest information about them is indispensable.
Genre or Niche Blogs
These are blogs with a specific topic as their focus. As is the case for all the above categories there can be quite a bit of bleed-over into the various categories. There are a lot more categories than just those I’ve listed here.
No matter what type of blog you write the basic reason for blogging remains the same. You write to share information. What differs is the desired result of that sharing.
